before you Expire.
Sometimes just a handshake will change a life.

You see a certain movie, witness an important event, or are part of an accomplishment that fills your brain. From this you get a joy in you that makes you want to do more. You are Inspired!
With me it's people. Take Lance Armstrong. The guy is more than a pretty good cyclist, and then experiences career-ending cancer. Unfair? You bet. What does he do? He takes his lumps and rides through it. Goes on to win the Tour de France eight times. Then when there is no one else left to beat, he retires and starts a very successful organization focused on battling cancer. Wow. Only a person like Lance has a chance of accomplishing something like this. You know that guy will refuse to ever give up until the final cure is found. Presently, Lance has returned to racing to bring more attention to his cause. At 37, he finished third in the 2009 Tour de France.
Shawn Johnson, a local gymnist, competed in the China Olympics. She lost the gold in more than one event to competitors with questionable qualifications. Yet without comment, Shawn continued on and won her gold.
...Now that is class, and she's still a teenager.
True Ironman Jon Blais, took on Lou Gehrigs Disease. His fingers couldn't tie his shoes but he finished in the Hawaii Ironman. A remarkable man and a sad loss.
Gary Sinise, ( lieut. Dan - Forrest Gump ), travels back and forth to the middle east war zone to pump up the troops. If I never again hear the snap of a bullet breaking the sound barrier as it passes overhead, I'm really good with that. Yet, I would do anything to be over there helping Gary somehow.
These are humble, modest people who have focus. They are just a few of the people who inspire me, and in that way I would like to be able to inspire at least one other human being before I'm 6 feet under and no longer able to wishful think.
That is what this website is all about: Finding that one person out there who needs just a little inspiration to push him into improving and extending his time on this planet through exercise and he in turn inspiring someone else. One need not be an athlete or a movie star to inspire. They are just larger-than-life examples. It's finding something and doing it with concentration. You keep moving, doing it well enough to share your excitement with others, doing it with a pizzazz that causes your family to look at you in wonder and admiration. "There ain't no flies on my Granny."
So get off your size xl tush. Your number is almost up, yet you have work to do. You've lived long enough to know there are no free rides. It takes drive, determination and hard work to achieve anything. Therefore, participation is everything. That's what gives you sense of worth. Want to be humbled? Meet Nick Vujicic.
There is more than one type of inspiration. When I see an super size overweight person at the grocery store who uses a motorized cart to shop, arise and walk to their car when it's over, I am motivated to wish that I had dropped a snake in their lap just to see how fast and how high they could jump.
Or how about the person whose always bending your ear about deserving government provided health care and you have known about his alcohol and substance abuse for decades. You are inspired to say, "Why do you feel you are owed anything by the taxpayer?", but you bite your lip. It's frequently difficult to be a polite person in our society.
More people will be added to this page as time goes on. Who knows where it will lead. Just for fun, why don't you INSPIRE US WITH YOUR STORY?. That would be awesome.
